The Band of The Irish Guards was performing in concert at the Loughborough Town Hall organized by the Quorn Branch of The Royal British Legion. The Director of Music Major A.R. Chatburn BA ARCM PSM was addressing the audience. “Being the Irish Guards we ought to do something Irish”. Quick as a flash someone from the back of the audience yelled “Dig up the car park!”
